Cultivation of tomatoes in the open field intended for fresh consumption is mainly found in the north, particularly in TIPAZA, MOSTAGANEM, SIDI BEL ABBES, CHELEF, as well as in the south, at OUED SOUF.

This type of tomato grows in two time intervals, the first one in the late season in July/ August, covering a very large area and which yields a significant production of tomatoes. These tomatoes are mainly concentrated in the areas of Mostaganem, Tipaza and Oued Souf. The second interval is in April / May, whereby the cultivation area expands from one year to another, and is mainly concentrated Sidi Bel Abbes and other areas.

MICHEL F1 tomato variety is specifically resistant to TYLCV virus, intended for field cultivation. It is a variety that has been recently introduced to the market by DEBBANE AGRI, which adapts perfectly to both late and seasonal time intervals.

MICHEL F1 variety has great technical and commercial potential: Abundant production, homogeneous size, bright red color and very firm shape. All these characteristics allow this variety of tomatoes to be stored for a long time and survive long journeys. The plant has good strength and is very resistant to fungal diseases.
